Signature Spaces at The NC Museum of Natural Sciences
Nature Exploration Center
- The First Floor accommodates up to 220 guests for seated events or 400 for receptions amid coastal habitat exhibits and live aquariums. The WRAL 3D Theater can be added for an additional 250 guests.
- The Second Floor provides space for 120 seated guests or 300 for receptions, featuring a dramatic two-story waterfall and the Underground North Carolina exhibit with its impressive gemstone collection, including the continent’s largest cut emerald.
- The Third Floor transports guests to Prehistoric North Carolina, offering dining and dancing under dinosaurs in Terror of the South. This level accommodates 200 for seated events or 350 for receptions.
- The Fourth Floor offers the intimate Acro Café beneath a starlit sky within the Living Conservatory, complete with live butterflies and a two-toed sloth in a recreated tropical forest. This enchanting space hosts 75 for seated events or 120 for receptions.
- The Boardroom & Bicentennial Terrace on the Fifth Floor provides panoramic views of downtown Raleigh, the State Legislative Building, and State Capitol. This elegant daytime meeting space accommodates up to 18 seated guests and is available from 9am to 5pm.
Nature Research Center
- The First Floor features the stunning SECU Daily Planet Theater with screens spanning three floors, alongside displays featuring Stumpy the Right Whale and an 8,000-gallon aquarium. This level accommodates 200 seated guests or 300 for receptions.
- The Second Floor showcases Earth’s rich biodiversity and meteorological exhibits, accommodating 60 seated guests or up to 200 for receptions.
- The Third Floor offers a journey through ancient life periods with exhibits featuring meteorites, Mars fragments, and Triassic specimens. This space hosts 40 seated guests or 200 for receptions.
- The Fourth Floor houses the William G. Ross Jr. Environmental Conference Center, ideal for professional conferences or elegant celebrations with space for 175 seated guests or 250 for receptions.
